The University offers a range of scholarships for Taiwanese students of high academic standing commencing a postgraduate Taught Masters programme at the University of Sheffield in September 2009.
Taiwan Sheffield Postgraduate Scholarships 2009
We are pleased to offer the Taiwan Sheffield Postgraduate Scholarship 2009 to all students from Taiwan commencing a Taught Masters programme in the Faculties of Engineering, Pure Science and the School of Medicine and Biomedical Sciences in September 2009.
The scholarships are:
* £1,500 each for students paying fees between £10,420 - £11,600
* £2,000 each for students paying fees £11,601 and upwards
Eligibility and award criteria:
* You must hold an offer of a study place and begin your postgrauate Taught Masters programme in the Faculties of Engineering, Pure Science and the School of Medicine and Biomedical Sciences in September 2009.
* You must be an Taiwanese national or permanently domiciled in Taiwan.
* You must be classified as overseas for fee purposes.
* The scholarships will be awarded automatically - no application is required.
* The scholarships will take the form of a tuition fee reduction.
Taiwan 50% Postgraduate Scholarship 2009
There is one Taiwan 50% Postgraduate Scholarship, available for Taiwanese students starting their postgraduate taught masters degree studies in September 2009.
The scholarship is worth 50% of your postgraduate taught masters degree tuition fee for one year of study.
To be eligible for the Taiwan 50% Postgraduate Scholarship 2009, applicants must be a Taiwanese national or permanently domiciled in Taiwan, apply for a study place by 26 June 2008 and hold an offer of a study place for entry in September 2009.
The Taiwan 50% Postgraduate Scholarship 2009 is awarded on the basis of academic merit.
If you wish to be considered for this scholarship you need to apply. Eligible students will automatically be sent details of how to apply from January 2009 onwards.
Applicants cannot apply for the scholarship before being offered a study place at Sheffield.
Postgraduate research degrees eg PhD, MPhil
The University of Sheffield does not offer research studentships or funding specifically for Taiwanese students. There are, however, studentships and funding for which students from Taiwan can apply:
New Route PhD
Tuition fee scholarships are available to students starting a New Route PhD programme in September 2009.
The scholarship is a 25% tuition fee reduction per year for 4 years of the degree programme.
Applicants will be informed automatically if they have been awarded a scholarship.
Applicants cannot apply for the scholarship before being offered a study place at Sheffield.
